One foot in front of the other
The header pretty much says where I am.
I had the interview for the job I want. I am now doing the “homework”. I hope I am up to the task. The parameters are pretty aggressive, but I think I can frame it so it gets the best of what can be done. My biggest fear is that IF I get the job, they will want me to pull off the event as I have outlined it. That will be difficult because the timeline it really needs is 12 months to do it right.
The scenario: reach families with children at home, increase their awareness of the program and mission; add donors and volunteers; and raise $20,000. The agency service area is county wide and the target time frame is the first week of December.
Needless to say, I am scrambling to put this together by Friday…and it will be judged against the other interviewees.
When I emailed my references and a thank you note to the Development Director, she sent back a note with a comment about never having seen such a highly qualified group of applicants before. Preface with with the fact that I have known this woman for a number of years, worked with her through the tornado recovery. I probably shouldn’t be concerned, but…..worry is what I do best!
So, I scramble to get the “plan” together, keep my computer running (altho I think my printer is done for), take my house back (it is amazing what happens when you haven’t the energy to look). By next week I will be back to looking for jobs.
Citizen’s Academy is about criminal law, and the 911 center tonight. 911 center is still something I would love to do, but this will give me a safe place to ask the questions I have about the application process.
FIL is home from the hospital and learning the in’s ‘n out’s of “ostomy” care and feeding. He was thrilled that I made “real food” on Sunday for the family brunch, as all he is getting at home is canned/boxed/frozen, as MIL stopped cooking real food years ago, and he is not quite up to going out. Health is still a questionable thing, bloodwork says that chemo is not a safe bet at the moment, so we have to get that figured out first. His attitude is great, attention span and memory have taken a major hit, but we got the dvd player working and I loaded my old iPod with a good mystery for him (if he remembers how to work the iPod), so he should be set for a bit.
That is my life in a nut-shell.

Sounds like the potential for exciting adventure…and by now, you probably know something. Don’t leave us hangin’
