Long week….

I feel like I have become a weekend blogger. I come home at night, if I don’t have a meeting, I zone out, read a bit and crash. If I have a meeting, I barely get email read, and then my eyes are glazing over. I barely respond to emails, have the energy to read but not respond to much of anything.

Why am I so exhausted? I am sure that the supersubzero temps for so many days in a row has something to do with it. A new car battery one week and an $800 repair bill the next did not make me happy, and all the figiting around to get to work, start at the new site, and get back to the main site…..and home, did not help my mood or my energy.

The job….is an interesting study. It is not mentally taxing. Occasionally I am tested to use my brain, but those are few and far between. Next weeks work with policies and procedures might use a few braincells. The biggest energy sink there is the multitudes of little tasks. We do admin work for the director, we do program services for the residents, we do admin for almost everyone in the place. Up, down, in, out, around and upside-down.  We also have the coordination piece between residents and the world….the USPS, the RA staff, and more and more and more.

And this weekend I came home and collapsed. Aches and exhaustion and a stuffed head have lead their way to sniffles, sneezes and a full on cold.

A short trip to see the kids new home and visit with grandchilren and my day will conclude with the remote and a cuddly blanket on the sofa.

I am not relishing trying to work with a runny nose next week.

  1. oh my! you have had a bad week…one can but hope it improves for you cris and the stuffy head decides to find someone else to harass…

thanks Maureen, the stuffies have taken a back seat (sometimes i can think head colds into remission), but I think the work thing is going to take more than my mind can control. but thanks for the thoughts :)

  2. I seem to not be blogging on the weekends so maybe we should co-blog and we’d be all set for every day of the week!
I really hope this week is better for you mate..

What a creative idea Kelly! Thanks for the good thoughts.

  3. with all the changes at work in the past weeks, i, too, have been reduced to short snippits and reading of blogs. take care and thinking of you about the cold. poet

thanks for the good thoughts poet. the cold is easing for a day or two, and we have phenomenal snows happening instead, and then we will have more cold.

I love winter, I really do, it’s just the crazies on the roads that terrify me.

I hope work eases up for both of us, and some peace seeps into our lives.
